Hello there literate roleplayers. Are you tired of bland Light vs. Dark plots, equine RPGs that all seem the same, and plots that don't affect your character?
Well we've got a surprise for you. At The Secret it's not just about good and evil. In fact, good and evil don't have a lot to do with things. No matter whose side you're on, you can be as nice or as cruel as you see fit. But if you live in the north you'd better be tough if you want to stay alive. Here's a summary of what kinds of characters you can make:
Southern equines: The Resistance. You like freedom and would rather be left to your own devices. Conquering is not really your thing, you just want to be left alone to start a herd. Weakland equines: The Captives. You keep your head down and hope you don't get beaten up too often. You dream of escaping to the south, but know you'll be killed for trying. Mostly mares live here, though there is a small number of stallions. They usually get beaten down the most so they can't rebel. Northern equines: Tartarus's Legions. You work for the mastermind, Tartarus, the one who blew the news about the object of power out into the open. You answer to his captain Atlas, and you spend your time fighting, bullying mares in the Weaklands, and training colts for the army. If you have any spare time you can gather a small herd. Haven of Hesperides: The Secret Keepers. You know not hate nor greed, and you live within the walls of the Haven. You may leave to explore, but other equines seem so different to you. You live in peace and philosophy, seeking knowledge and enlightenment. But you know what is brewing, and the battle will come to your doorstep even though they cannot break down the door.

What's going on... ?
There was peace once, though by now it is but a distant memory in the minds of those old enough to remember. There was order and cohesion, and nothing to fear. The Keepers of Hesperides stayed within their walled Haven, and none disrupted their peace. There was always a rumor that an object of unspeakable power lay hidden within those great walls, but in time the rumor grew dull with age. But now a young stallion, maddened with greed, is gathering all the information he can about this mysterious object of celestial power. Flanked by the powerful drafts of the northern lands, he is murdering and taking prisoners left and right. There is only a handful of southern herds that stand against him, led by the mysterious Theseus. If they are vanquished, the Keepers will be on their own. Chaos and uncertainty abound. How much longer can the forces of reason hold off this madman?
The board is set, the pieces are in play. Whose side will you join?

The Plunge
People believe there is nothing beyond the end of the oceans, believing they have already discovered all land and registered it to their hundreds of maps. They had already found all the stray islands, returning to their computers to type for hours on end, while one island still remains hidden. However, it isn抰 an island they have missed, they overlooked an entire continent. Lost out at sea, even where the human race hasn抰 tamed the wilderness, the immeasurable land mass sits, flourishing with its beauty as the world around it seems to pass by...A hellish storm hit the ocean that surrounded the vast lands. Mighty forests shook as the gales whipped at their roots, tearing them from their bed. Topographies laid in ruins, the sound of snapping trees and other vegetation echoing like an eerie scream from the Goddess of Life. The continent was not the only one plagued by this storm. A ship, caught out at sea, with storage of many equine rocked in the waves. The horses watched in fear, as from the opening above, where each looked everyday for escape from the dreary storage, water poured in like a waterfall. Foals struggled to keep above the abounding amount of water, some, perishing at their dam抯 feet. In the colossal struggle to escape the rising water, horses snapped and kicked at their chain leads that held them tightly to the walls. The storm tossed the ship, the horses inside forced around by the strength, rammed into steel walls, and each other. Many legs broke, horses drowning as they tried to get back to the surface. Other抯 skulls were crushed between steel walls and other bods. Few horses remained calm as the bodies around them began to float, crimson flowing from their corpses. Outside, the humans clung to poles, crying, as they knew they would never see their loved ones again. An immense wave towered over the ship, slamming down with the force of a god, and washed the men away. Water poured through the opening, just as horses were slammed into the steel walls once more. To some, luck had struck, their rusty chain leads snapped, and they rushed for an escape, swimming through bodies and blood stained water. Twenty-four total horses had made it to the deck after the wave had struck. Rain struck their hides, chilling to the marrow in their bone. Heads swung around, as they looked for, once more, an escape...

When Sleath was first built, just after the years of AD started. Sleath was a peaceful place to live. Cursico Sleath lived in the fertile land, naming the land after his surname. And back then, Sleath had truly been beautiful, peaceful creatures coming in to live away from the strife of other universes. Inevitably, other kingdoms started wanting the universe for themselves. They sent in spies and creatures with negetive thoughts to destroy the land. Cursico and his steed, Bandit, fought this corruption, and won. Another generation passed by, and the first attackers children attacked Sleath once more, destrying the land even more. For another time they were deterred by the peaceful creatures, only two of the attackers had survived the last bloody battle. Whilst the human Earth was just discovering technology, the remaining two lords began to sneak in once more. Where one lord came in, the land froze into a bleak area. Where another came, a volcano sprouted and everything became burnt. Only the Blood and Darkness realms were untouched, this was only because that is where Cursico rules. The world is mixed, and for years generations have come out tangled with either evil or good. Do you wish to save Cursico's land? The Story
Once in a land there was many horses each forming their own group.They were aware of the others that shared their land and for many years they were peacful and never tried to attack for they had all they needed,food,water,friends,and leaders that understood what had to be done to take care of them.They all thrived well some were peaceful and kind called lights another that seemed to hate many things about the world yet too no action was the darks and the last band the neutrals who seemed to be a mixture of both and no one could define their actual purpose in those times ,but yet they were.
They lived like that for years until there were to many horses in their small teritories and they strode out of their home to take some land from those closeest to them.The lights attacked the neutrals,the neutrals the darks or lights and the darks tried to take over every one even themselves as the times went on.These battles cause many losses over the years and even as they started to thin out and move back their warlike ways had not changed and every time there was a small period of peace they always knew it would follow with war and destructions.The lights never forgot what the darks and neutrals did to their herd and the same with the other bands,but once the battles seemed to stop forever and horses forgot and leaders died letting knew recless ones come.
Those leaders grew strong with the hatred of loosing parents and friends so they led armies to meet each other in the middle and fought to kill off one band or die yourself and this war lafted for years longer than any other that had been started and this war was called the Blood Feud.Brothers and sisters tried to escape to the winning sides only to be killed or to be fought upon by one of their own kin.Mares and stallions ,foals and even harmless animals that had no matter in such an even had to fall at the mercy of any horse that came upon them waiting for someone to win so another peace would come,and it did.
This was the last peace though.It lasted for centuries for neither amry of lights,darks,or neutrals was ready to do battle for they were wounded and many times their leaders would die and be over thrown only to see if this new blood to the thrown could lead well.They evoled over that time.Horses seemed to be able to cast a spell inside their head to kill one another or they could simply use that magic to make a plant grow bigger.Finding those powers they turned on each other to see who would win this time and who would fight the lights and neutrals,but they were surprised.Not only one herd had the ablity to cast spells...they all did and they found too that those spells could be blocked and transformed to turn on each other until three horses were left.Each was the last of their herd and they just stood there simoply smirking at one another and went home ,but yet close enough together that they wouldn't dare move because the other two would attack.Will there be new leaders in this land?Will the land finally come to peace or into another war to last years?Will you become a leader in the years that they rule or will you be a simple loner with out a home? You choose.....
